Business Meeting



Charlie Carpenter called the meeting to order at 3:25 pm.

Members present are: Roy Bennett, Mike Brininstool, Mike Long, Larry Moore, Robert Morrow, Jim O’Leary, Dick Spoula, Frank Turner, Fred Walters and Linda Steinhoff.

Guest: Ole Jorgensen


Minutes of previous meeting: None for February due to other club activities.


Treasurer’s Report; Larry gave the treasurers’ report. A total of $128.37 earned on 2 CD’s at Alamogordo Federal S & L. Otero Fed. CU savings earned $2.03. Each was for the quarter. An added expense of $5.00 from Otero F.C.U. for Organization Fee was discussed.

Fred Walters made the motion to accept the treasurers’ report, seconded by Frank Turner. Motion passed.


Old Business

The motorcycle races were held. They donated $750.00 to the club for their work on the checkpoints.


Soccer Tournament report by Mike Brininstool. The tournament went well. Nine members helped. After the tournament, Mike lost 2 handheld radios and a bag of batteries. 1st shift: Roy, Mike, Rick; 2nd shift: Fred, Mike Mello, Gene Mangold, 3rd shift: Roy, last shift, Mike B. and Larry.


The club Web site: Jim O’Leary stated that it is basically inoperable at present; that we needed a new web master or someone within the club who could manage the web site.


NEW BUSINESS


Field Day- start thinking about it. –June.


There will be a mini Field Day on April 21st, for newly upgraded hams. It will be an early simulated ARES situation for exercise to help the new upgrades to gain experience. Sandoval and Bernalillo counties have suggested that any other county interested plan to join them.


Mesilla Valley ham club has their bean feed will be on April 29. Larry has map with their newsletter for any one who wants to look.


Larry Moore- he wants to know what the club wants to do with the crank up tower that was donated some 20 years ago. Sell to club members. The tower is a Troy-X-W33, tilt-over base, serial No.75085. Sealed Bid by the first of the next month. There should be a minimum starting point.

Jim states that there is other equipment that should be sold as well. Let members have first chance at the items, and if no one is interested, then open it up to anyone who wants to buy the items.

Larry said that he would take to his house so everyone to see. Jim should bring a list of what is available so club members can see if there is anything they can use. The list should be brought to the next breakfast.

Larry suggested that the board of directors get together to decide what hasn’t been used for 5 years and get those items out to bid.


A motion to adjourn at 3:50 p.m. by Fred Walters and seconded by Larry Moore.
