The 'Lazy J'
is situated in south central New Mexico at 6050 feet. It is on
the apron to a mountain range. The pictures depict the view from
the east, south, west, and north.
We have a weather station on
site and contribute to the
CWOP
and
Weather
Underground with the data. We are currently the only weather
station in the Valley
of Fires.
We will soon have an observatory on site.
I run a small Astronomy business which specializes in unique starcharts, Telrad Finder Charts and high quality lens cleaning kits.
I am also a
retired Organic Chemist interested in finding some part-time consulting
work. Got any?
David Hall and
myself have been studying the light transmission of various brands of
eyepieces for several years. We have collected data and presented
our
findings in several forums including local astronomy clubs and a
regional MSRAL convention. We are hoping to summarize our
findings in a
future edition of the AL Reflector.
I have also published articles on how to make some useful accessories for amateur astronomers. There are links to all of these above.
